2010 Plans

As mentioned at the February General meeting, the Society plans to host the BJV Database on the Society Website. How it will be hosted is still being planned, but we can confirm that the database contains over 5600 records of biographical details of Australians who served with the flying services during the Great War.

Also announced was the plans to allow members electronic access to the Societys photographic collection. It is planned to catalogue the collection in the next few months and then release the collection in stages over the next 12 months.

The project converting the Societys audio library to a digital format is complete. The next step is burning the files to a cd and this will take a further few weeks.

Societys 50th Anniversary

This writer believes that the Society is the oldest continuous type of its kind in the world. With that in mind a significant project has commenced.

Steve Drew the Societys Vice President has asked for members help in establishing a Society Archive of records reflecting the past 48 years. He hopes that it will be completed by 2012 when the Society will celebrate its 50th anniversary. If you can help Steve in this important project, please email the Vice President.
